Laser treatment for Tattoo Removal
Regret getting that tattoo? Fortunately there is a way to safely and effectively eliminate tattoos with laser therapy. Years ago, most tattoos consisted of a single color, either blue or black. However, today’s tattoos are typically made of multiple colors all of which absorb light differently, so to effectively treat a colorful tattoo, multiple laser wavelengths are needed.
Our Alma Harmony XL Pro has the option of different wavelengths to treat a spectrum of colors. The high power Q-Switched Nd:YAG 1064nm laser is ideal for treating darker ink colors (black, blue and green), while the 532nm wavelength is effective for brighter ink colors (red, orange and yellow).
How it works
Alma’s Q-Switch technology delivers powerful high-intensity light beam pulses in nanoseconds that break up ink particles into smaller pieces without causing thermal damage. These particles are absorbed and flushed out by the body causing the tattoo to fade. This process takes about 6 weeks. Since tattoo ink is generally distributed in multiple layers of the skin, multiple treatment sessions are needed. On average 4-8 sessions are needed and treatments are done 6 weeks apart.
