UPNEEQ vs. Eyelid Surgery
UPNEEQ can be a good choice for people who have mild to moderate sagging of their upper eyelids. During your visit to our office we’ll review your medication and health history to make sure UPNEEQ is safe for you. People who are taking beta blockers, certain blood pressure medications, some antidepressants, and other prescription medications may not be good candidates. If you are looking for significant lifting of the upper eyelids and/or want to address lower eyelid concerns such as bagging and dark circles, considering eyelid surgery may be a better option.
Eyelid surgery can provide long-lasting improvement in both the upper and lower eyelids. People who have heavy upper eyelids or a considerable amount of loose skin on their upper lids may not see the results they would hope for through use of UPNEEQ alone. And use of UPNEEQ will not change the appearance of the lower eyelids. We are happy to review your concerns about your eye area and advise on your best treatment option.
