Facelift

The facelift is a popular facial plastic surgery procedure that is used to correct common signs of aging for men and women in their 40s and up. This surgery can improve various concerns such as loose or sagging skin (such as jowls), and deep facial folds (such as nasolabial folds). Two primary reasons to have a facelift:
  • You are experiencing areas of loose or sagging skin in your mid to lower face
  • You want to restore a youthful and lifted facial profile

How a Facelift is Performed

Dr. Kramer will perform your facelift in our Boise surgery center by making incisions hidden within your hairline. Your facelift will be customized to your needs and will include a unique combination of reshaping the underlying tissue, tightening the facial muscles, and removing loose and excess skin. Liposuction may also be combined with your facelift in order to reduce any stubborn fat in your chin or face.

Look Younger, But Still Like You

While getting older has certain benefits, for many men and women, looking older is definitely not one of them. Wrinkled skin, sagging jowls, and other signs of aging can have a negative impact on a person’s self-confidence and other aspects of his or her life. Because of this, the facelift has become known as an extremely life-changing procedure that can help men and women feel great about their looks at any age. Dr. Kramer performs facelifts to help give patients back a more youthful, yet natural appearance. Carefully observing your facial condition and listening to your specific goals, Dr. Kramer will be able to determine if a facelift is the right choice for you. He may recommend alternative procedures such as non-surgical injectables or fillers if he does not feel that surgery is necessary yet. You may also choose to combine your facelift with other procedures, such as a brow lifteyelid surgery, or a neck lift. Because the facelift focuses mainly on the mid to lower face, patients often have multiple facial procedures performed to achieve a fuller facial rejuvenation.

Healing After Facelift Surgery

Recovery time after facelift surgery will vary from patient to patient depending on the methods used for your facelift. Dr. Kramer will go over the details of your facelift recovery and can answer any questions or concerns you may have. As your skin continues to heal, any bruising and swelling you are experiencing will gradually fade. Most feel comfortable returning to work after about two weeks and can wear makeup to help conceal any post-surgical signs. Once you are fully healed, you will notice a more youthful, yet naturally-looking face in the mirror.
