Microneedling with Rejuvapen™

Microneedling or skin needling is a minimally invasive, collagen inducing skin rejuvenation procedure.  It is a controlled injury which produces thousands of microscopic needle punctures that activate a natural wound healing response.  Micro channels are temporarily created during the treatment which allows for powerful topical agents to penetrate deeper and more efficiently into the skin. How Does Microneedling Work?

Microneedling leads to gene expression of a number of growth factors that set into motion a cascade of biochemical factors that ultimately stimulates cellular processes, triggering collagen and elastin to the treated area resulting in tissue remodeling.

What Can Microneedling Help Treat?

Microneedling is used to correct fine lines and wrinkles, pigmentation problems, skin tone and texture, skin laxity, scars (including acne scarring), stretch marks, and hair loss.  Microneedling is not exclusive to the face; it can be done on any area of the skin that needs to be repaired.

How is Microneedling Performed?

A microneedling treatment usually takes about 30-60 minutes, depending on the areas treated. Multiple sessions may be required to achieve desired results.  After the procedure most patients looks as though they have moderate sunburn and the skin may feel warm and tighter than usual.  Most patients usually recover within 24 hours or less.
