Why Top Physicians Love and Recommend the Fat-Freezing Treatment CoolSculpting
What Will the Results Be?Many patients are satisfied after one treatment. However, during your consultation, we can discuss a treatment plan that will meet your specific treatment needs.
What Happens During the Treatment? To initiate the treatment we will position the device on your body. The device will then draw the bulge up between two cooling panels. The sensation is a firm pull and pressure – enough of a pull to ensure the selected tissue will be cooled most efficiently. An hour or so later, depending on your needs, you’re done.
Can I Return to Normal Activities After the Procedure?CoolSculpting is completely non-surgical, so typically you can return to normal activities immediately. Some patients experience redness, minor bruising, tingling, numbness or discomfort in the treated area, but this is temporary and will resolve completely. Often times, patients return to work after the session is over.
When Will I See Results? You may start to see changes as quickly as three weeks after your treatment, and will experience the most dramatic results after one to three months. Your body is still flushing fat cells and will continue doing so for up to four to six months after treatment.
Are the Results Permanent?During CoolSculpting, the treated fat cells are eliminated. As long as you maintain a healthy lifestyle, long-term results should remain stable.

What areas can I treat with CoolSculpting?
CoolSculpting is FDA approved for the abdomen, love handles, bra rolls, thighs, saddle bags, and the double chin.
Is CoolSculpting the same as liposuction?
CoolSculpting is a non-surgical procedure with no downtime. Each Coolsculpting session will reduce the fat layer on average by 20 to 25 percent. You may need multiple Coolsculpting sessions to equal the amount of fat you can remove with one liposuction procedure depending on the thickness of the fat layer and your personal treatment goals. Liposuction is a surgical procedure that carries surgical risks and downtime, but you could achieve a larger, more immediate reduction with a single session. Dr. Kramer performs both liposuction and CoolSculpting at his Meridian, Idaho practice and is able to choose the procedure that aligns with each of his patient’s goals.
How long will a CoolSculpting treatment take?
There are several different types of applicators that we use depending on the area being treated. Dr. Kramer is pleased to offer his patients the latest in CoolSculpting technology with the CoolAdvantage™ applicator. This allows us to perform a single CoolSculpting treatment in only 35 minutes. Some treatments with other CoolSculpting applicators may take up to one hour. Remember, that each side must be treated separately. Thus, in treatments where both sides need to be treated, like the love handles or thighs, the total amount of time doubles.
How many CoolSculpting Sessions will I need?
The number of CoolSculpting sessions will vary based on the thickness of the fat layer and individual patient response. Most of our patients typically need between two and four treatments.
How much does CoolSculpting cost?
The cost for CoolSculpting will vary depending on the treatment area, how many applicators are being used, and the number of CoolSculpting sessions. The average price for a single treatment with the CoolAdvantage applicator is $800. Treating multiple areas can reduce the cost because we offer package pricing at Kramer Plastic Surgery.
How long will it take to see the results of CoolSculpting?
Most patients see improvement in one to three months as the body naturally processes and expels the frozen fat cells.
What does CoolSculpting feel like?
Most CoolSculpting applicators use suction and patients will feel a mild tugging or pulling as the applicator is applied. There may be a mild burning or tingling sensation as the cooling starts but this will subside as the area becomes numb within a few minutes into the CoolSculpting treatment.
What happens during the CoolSculpting treatment?
The applicator will cool the treatment area to a certain temperature that only the fat cells are sensitive to—for the Advantage applicator that is -11 degrees Celsius. During this time, a certain number of fat cells are “crystalized”. Over the next few days those cells die, and over time those cells are broken down and removed from the body.
How much fat can I lose?
The average reduction is per session is 20 to 25 percent thickness of the fat layer.
What happens to the fat?
Through a natural process, the effected fat cells are crystallized, broken down, and expelled from the body.
How long will the results last?
The destroyed fat cells are gone permanently. However, the remaining fat cells will function normally by expanding and contracting and are subject to weight gain and weight loss. Dr. Kramer encourages his patients to maintain a healthy diet and exercise program to maintain the excellent results of their CoolSculpting treatment.
