- You are unhappy with the size of your nose (you feel it is too big or too small)
- You want to correct a crooked or angled nose
- You are self-conscious about the appearance of your nose and want to improve balance between your facial features
How Rhinoplasty is Performed
Your rhinoplasty nose reshaping procedure will vary depending on your specific situation and goals. Dr. Kramer will walk you through your surgery in detail ahead of time so you know what to expect regarding the procedure and recovery. Dr. Kramer will perform rhinoplasty as either an open or closed surgery at our state-of-the-art Boise surgery center . The difference between these two options is in the location of your incisions. With an open rhinoplasty, your incisions will be made outside of the nose along the columella, allowing for increased visibility of the underlying bone and cartilage. While a closed rhinoplasty will completely hide any future scarring by using incisions made within your nostrils, it is not recommended for more significant changes to the nose. Once your incision has been made, Dr. Kramer will reshape the underlying nasal bone and cartilage to change the size, projection, or slope of the nose. Specially created implants or bone grafts may also be used if you are undergoing rhinoplasty to increase the size of a smaller nose.A Nose Made for Your Face
Men and women who feel their nose is too big, too small, crooked, bumpy, twisted or anything in between often struggle with low self-esteem. Things such as social interactions, smiling for a picture, or even looking in the mirror can be made extremely difficult when a person is uncomfortable with his or her appearance. Dr. Jonathan Kramer performs rhinoplasty to help men and women achieve an appearance they can feel confident about. At Kramer Plastic Surgery, we emphasize working closely with everyone who walks through our doors and taking as much time as needed to ensure each surgery is completely unique to the patient. Since rhinoplasty is such a transformative procedure, it is important to perform it carefully and thoughtfully—keeping in mind what the patient wants and what will work best to achieve his or her desired outcome.Healing After Rhinoplasty
Recovery after your rhinoplasty procedure will depend on the techniques used by Dr. Kramer for your surgery. You will need to wear a special splint for about 5-7 days to help your nose heal in its new position. There will be some bruising and swelling, which will mostly fade after a week and gradually improve as your skin heals. Most of Dr. Kramer’s patients feel comfortable enough to return to work about 1-2 weeks after their nose surgery.Getting Started with Rhinoplasty in Boise
