Laser Hair Removal

Candela GentleLase®

Tired of plucking, waxing or shaving? Don’t be embarrassed by stubborn stubble. Enjoy the modern way of dealing with unwanted hair! Our Candela GentleLase® Plus system is considered the “workhorse” by many people as a solution and long lasting option for permanent hair reduction. The Candela GentleLase Plus uses Alexandrite laser technology to selectively target dark, coarse hair. It’s highly concentrated light is absorbed by the pigment in the hair follicles which destroys the hair causing the hair to fall out and minimizing further growth. Multiple sessions are required to treat hair in its active growth phase. At any given time we have approximately 100 hairs showing out of an estimated 2500 hair follicles per square inch. Our laser hair removal packages are designed for optimal hair removal reduction by targeting the hair in this active growth phase. Most patients achieve their ideal results after 6 sessions scheduled 6 weeks apart, however, some patients may continue to undergo touch–up or annual maintenance treatments. It’s important to remember that an individual response may vary based on age, ethnicity, weight, metabolism, medication and hormones.

Things to avoid prior to your treatment

Laser hair removal targets the hair root, so if you plan on undergoing a laser hair removal treatment you should avoid plucking, waxing, and electrolysis which would remove the hair root for a minimum of six weeks. In addition tanning and excess sun exposure will make the treatment less effective and increase the risk for potential treatment complications.
