Breast augmentation has undergone a fair amount of change since its inception in the 1960s. Breast implants themselves have continued to evolve—from the shell of the implant, to the type of material filling—and are now available in a number of varieties, including saline or silicone, smooth or textured, and round or shaped. Just as breast implants have changed, so too has the technique. One such change includes the invention of the Keller Funnel. Developed by Dr. Kevin Keller, the Keller Funnel was designed to better facilitate silicone implant placement.
